The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Omicron Lambda Chapter, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of one of its beloved sisters, Saige Richardson. The sad announcement was shared by the chapter, leaving members, friends and loved ones deeply saddened by the tragic news. The loss of a sorority sister is more than the loss of a fellow member. It is the loss of someone connected through sisterhood, shared experiences, meaningful relationships and a commitment to supporting one another. For the Omicron Lambda Chapter, Saige’s passing represents a painful moment for a community built on friendship, service, unity and lifelong bonds.
As members come to terms with this difficult news, the chapter is encouraging everyone to come together to celebrate Saige’s life and honour her memory through a special candlelight vigil.
The memorial gathering is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., by the water feature. The vigil will provide an opportunity for sisters, friends and members of the wider community to gather, reflect and pay their respects.
Candlelight vigils hold special meaning during times of grief. Each light represents remembrance, love and the enduring connections that remain even after someone has passed away. The gathering will allow those who knew Saige to share memories, offer comfort and stand together in solidarity.
At this difficult time, our heartfelt condolences go out to Saige’s family, relatives, friends and her entire Omicron Lambda sisterhood.
May those closest to her find strength in their shared memories and comfort in the support of their community. May the love and sisterhood surrounding her family provide some reassurance during this heartbreaking period.
Rest peacefully, Saige Richardson. Your sisterhood, your memory and the love you inspired will remain forever cherished.
Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
