Julio Raymundo Ramos Dover High School Ohio Death: In Loving Memory Of Julio Raymundo Ramos, 10th-Grade Student Who Died Unexpectedly

The Dover City Schools community in Ohio is mourning the tragic death of Julio Raymundo Ramos, a 10th-grade student at Dover High School who died by suicide on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. His passing marks the second student suicide reported at the school in just over a month, leaving students, families, teachers, and staff facing another painful loss.

According to a message shared with families by Dover High School Principal Brooke Grafe, the school disclosed the news with the permission of Ramos’ family. Grafe expressed sympathy for his loved ones and the wider school community as students and staff begin to process the tragedy.

School officials have made counselors available to students and employees, with additional emotional support planned for the days following the announcement. The school has encouraged families to check in with their children, discuss their feelings, and seek help from trusted adults or school counselors when needed.

Ramos’ death comes approximately five weeks after the passing of Nathan Michael Beachy, a 15-year-old freshman at Dover High School who died on September 15, 2026. Beachy’s death had already brought considerable grief to the school community.

According to his obituary, Beachy was a dedicated student-athlete who excelled academically and demonstrated leadership among his peers. He took honors classes, regularly achieved honor-roll recognition, and participated in soccer, wrestling, and rugby. He also served as captain of both the soccer and wrestling teams.

Outside school, Beachy enjoyed fishing, riding ATVs, spending time with friends, and creating arts and crafts. He also had a longtime aspiration to become a K-9 police officer.

The deaths of two students within such a short period have highlighted the importance of mental health awareness, compassionate communication, and accessible support for young people. School officials have not indicated that the two deaths were connected, and further circumstances surrounding Ramos’ passing have not been publicly detailed.

Principal Grafe encouraged students, parents, and staff to support one another and reach out for help when struggling with grief or emotional distress. Families have also been encouraged to recognize that young people may respond to loss differently and may need additional care and understanding.

As Dover High School navigates this difficult period, thoughts and condolences are with Julio Raymundo Ramos’ family, friends, classmates, and everyone affected by his death.
