LAGRANGE, Ga. — Jared Greathouse Jr., an 18-year-old resident of LaGrange, Georgia, died Monday, October 19, 2026, after a two-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer on Hamilton Road, also known as State Route 1, in Troup County.
According to investigators with the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 7:56 a.m. as Jared was traveling eastbound in a black Chevrolet S10 pickup truck. The collision involved a white tractor-trailer that was attempting to enter the highway from a gas station.
Investigators said the tractor-trailer was turning left onto State Route 1 when it blocked the eastbound lanes. The Chevrolet S10 then struck the left rear portion of the tractor-trailer’s trailer.
Jared sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Despite efforts to save him, he later died from his injuries, according to Troup County Coroner Erin Hackley.
