Looking back at pictures like this makes it all feel a little more real and a little harder to accept. It’s amazing how one photograph can bring back so many memories and remind us of the people who played such an important role in our children’s lives.
Darrin, you were there supporting these boys from such a young age, including my son, and so many others throughout the years. You weren’t just supporting a football team or cheering from the sidelines. You were investing your time, energy, and heart into the young people in our community. You showed up, encouraged them, believed in them, celebrated their victories, and stood behind them through the challenges. Those things may have seemed like small gestures at the time, but they meant so much more than you probably ever realized.
So many of these boys who once ran around the football field as kids are now grown men, with families and lives of their own. But they will always carry those childhood memories with them. The practices, the games, the laughter, the friendships, and the people who made those years so special. And you will forever be a part of those memories.
It takes a special kind of person to give so much of themselves without expecting anything in return. Your dedication, kindness, and willingness to show up made a lasting difference, not only in the lives of these boys but in the entire community. You helped shape some wonderful memories and played a part in making childhood a little more meaningful for so many.
Thank you, Darrin, for every game, every word of encouragement, every cheer, and every moment you gave to these kids. I truly hope you knew just how appreciated you were and how many lives you touched along the way.
Some people come into our lives and leave memories. Others leave a legacy. You did both.
Sending heartfelt love, strength, and prayers to your family and everyone who is feeling this tremendous loss.
You will be missed more than words can express, but your impact will never be forgotten.
Rest easy, Darrin. Thank you for leaving such a beautiful mark on so many young lives. Gone far too soon, but never forgotten.
