The Okauchee, Wisconsin, community is mourning the heartbreaking and unexpected passing of Scott Krahn, beloved owner of the Hideaway, devoted father, husband, and cherished friend whose death has left an enormous void in the lives of his family, loved ones, and the local business community.
Scott was widely known for his dedication to the Hideaway and his genuine love for the Okauchee community. More than a business owner, he was a familiar face, a loyal friend, and someone whose kindness, honesty, and generosity earned the admiration of those fortunate enough to know him.
His devastated daughters, Olivia Krahn and Alexis Krahn, shared an emotional announcement expressing the overwhelming pain of losing their father. They described the difficulty of saying goodbye to someone who meant so much to them, particularly when his passing was so unexpected. The family has requested privacy, prayers, and understanding as they navigate this incredibly painful time.
Above everything else, Scott treasured his daughters. Friends recalled that his love for Olivia and Alexis was one of the defining parts of his life. Both daughters were involved in the Hideaway, making the establishment more than a business; it was also a place where family, friendship, and community came together.
Scott’s longtime friend and former business partner, Thomas Modl, reflected on their friendship, which began during childhood. He recalled Scott as strong, quiet, trustworthy, intelligent, and fair. Their professional relationship included the acquisition of the Hideaway in 2015, an important chapter in Scott’s connection to Okauchee’s business community.

A deeply emotional tribute from a family member recalled Scott as the cool uncle who loved motorcycles, dogs, and spending time with those closest to him. His family gathered at his bedside during his final moments, supporting his daughters and wife, Dawn Lipinski Krahn, as they said their goodbyes.
